Firefighting Simulator: Ignite - Interior

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is an AA firefighting simulation game developed by Weltenbauer, released in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and awarded Best Technical Achievement at the German Developer Award 2025.

As Senior Environment Artist, I was responsible for the interior environments across the game's mission locations, built in Unreal Engine 5 using Lumen, Nanite, and a full PBR pipeline. Among other things, I built the modular residential building kit used throughout the interior missions, designed for flexible layout assembly while holding up visually and technically under dynamic fire, smoke, and destruction during gameplay. My work covered world-building and environment art direction as well as technical optimization - draw calls, LODs, and streaming - across these spaces.
Beyond hands-on scene and asset work, I collaborated closely with mission design and development to align the interior spaces with gameplay needs and technical constraints, and led and mentored a cross-discipline team of 10+ artists - running art reviews, driving the quality bar, and onboarding new team members throughout production.

A huge thank you to the whole team at Weltenbauer - this project would not have been possible without their skill, dedication, and collaboration.
